I'll Be Seeing You Through Time (Dimension Keepers, #2)

An enchanting time-travel romance for fans of Jude Deveraux and Diana Gabaldon.

It’s 1942 and the world is at war. It’s difficult, but engaged couple, Jewel and Glenn, know they must say goodbye. Tomorrow, Glenn is shipping out on to the South Pacific. That is until he stops the Second Chance Bookstore on the way back to the base.

Suddenly, Glenn finds himself in 2013 with the woman he loves a half-century away.

Can the Dimension Keepers find an answer, or will Glenn and Jewel be ripped apart by the fabric of time forever?

She was the one. She had the mark. Casey had to die so his kind could live, and it was Theron’s duty to bring her in. But even as a 200-year-old descendent of Hercules, he wasn’t strong enough to resist the pull in her fathomless eyes, to tear himself away from the heat of her body. As war with the Underworld nears, someone will have to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Masters at Arms (Introduction to Military Romance & BDSM Series for Adults) (Rescue Me) – Kallypso Masters

Click here for Masters at Arms (Introduction to Military Romance & BDSM Series for Adults) (Rescue Me)

Length: 186 pages

Masters at Arms is an introduction to the Rescue Me series, which needs to be read first. The book begins the journey of three men, each on a quest for honor, acceptance, and to ease his unspoken pain. Their paths cross at one of the darkest points in their lives. As they try to come to terms with the aftermath of Iraq–forging an unbreakable bond–they band together to start their own BDSM club. But will they ever truly become masters of their own fates? Or would fate become masters of them? (Book One in the Rescue Me series.) NOTE FROM AUTHOR: This is an introduction to an adult, erotic-romance series RESCUE ME. The Happily Ever After endings and much hotter scenes come in the following Romance novels. The characters can’t be contained to a single book, so you need to read the books in order to follow the men in their romances. (The author doesn’t rehash what has come before in the series and the books are not stand-alone novels. The characters continue to work on their relationships even after their happy endings, so you’ll get to see them again in more than cameo appearances.) CONTENT WARNING: There are some intense themes in this book, including surviving the death of a spouse, dealing with the horrors of incest and being tortured as a sex slave, and dealing with the aftermath of war (including a wounded warrior with PTSD and an amputation injury). These are the sometimes ugly details of their pasts but are told in real time to help readers appreciate how far the characters have come as the series progresses.

Review: Kristen Ashley – Wild Man

Dream Man Series:

Book 2:

Wild Man: Brock Lucas and Tessa O’Hara

Wild Man (Dream Man, #2)

Purchase on Amazon: Kristen Ashley – Wild Man (Dream Man)

While filling her display case in her bakery, the bell over the door sounds and Tessa O’Hara looks up and sees the man of her dreams. Within thirty seconds he asks her out for a beer. Thirty seconds later, she says yes. But after four months of falling in love, she discovers he’s an undercover DEA Agent investigating the possibility she’s involved in her ex-husband’s drug business

Obviously Tess decides this means it’s over.

But DEA Agent Brock Lucas disagrees. A man on a mission who’s really committed to his job, he’s spent years in the underbelly of Denver with the dregs of society. And spending four months with Tess who’s as sweet as her cupcakes, he seriously enjoyed his job. But during Tess’s interrogation, Brock learns the devastating secret Tess is carrying and he’s determined to be the man who helps her heal as well as take her back as she walks on the wild side.

As wild and sweet mix, they face challenge after challenge of family struggling with history and terminal illness. Not to mention, Tess’s ex-husband, the drug lord and Brock’s ex-wife, who has a very big playbook are scheming to tear them apart.

But Brock Lucas has wild in him and once in his past on the trail of vengeance he let that wild loose, making a mistake that he would have no idea years later will put his sweet Tess in the position to pay his penance.

Enjoy Ms. Ashley’s characters they are full sass and sarcasm. In this book Tessa is just as sweet as sweet can be. She’s like the cupcakes she makes. She has everything a man would want in a woman, sweet as can be, loving with a bit of sass, never plays games, loyal and a good career, a true keeper. Brock knows he has a winner on his hands when he first meets Tess, the only problem is, he’s under cover and she doesn’t know his real name. When the truth comes out Tess walks out on him. Three months later Brock is ready to claim Tess whether she is ready or not.

As with Mystery Man, Kristen Ashley takes us on a wild trip of drama, suspense and action. Although the action is not quite as much as Mystery Man, there is plenty of family drama to make up for that. Brock comes from a nosey as hell family. They are all up in each other’s business, which definitely makes for some fun dramatic situations. On top of family drama, there is danger surrounding Tess, her ex-husband is out on bail and he wants Tess back. There is all sorts of fun wrapped up in this book: drama, action, laughs and good times.

Brock is a total alpha, hot, sexy, brash and commanding. I love it when he just says “Tess, mouth” and that is all that he says and Tess obeys. And why wouldn’t she? If I had a sexy commanding alpha male I’d kiss him too if he demanded it. But Tess is not without her own power; Brock adores her and would do anything for her. She pretty much has him effectively wrapped around her finger. I didn’t love Tess and Brock as much as I loved Gwen and Hawk, but I did love them. We also get visits from the characters from Mystery Man, including Gwen and a cameo from Hawk. We also get some good time with Elvira, whom I adore. If she doesn’t get her own book, I’ll be disappointed. .

If you enjoy sassy women who love their alpha males, this series is for you. It has tons of laughs and characters you can love.

Feature and Follow Friday: Bad Guys We Love to Hate

Welcome to the Feature & Follow

FF 2012 Feature and Follow #132Increase Blog Followers, gain Book Blog Followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.

This Weeks Question:

This weeks question is so hard! I’m going to have to pick Ilya Prakenskii from the Drake Sisters Series by Christine Feehan. Through most of this series we never knew what Ilya’s intensions are, we don’t know if he is a villain per say but he isn’t really one of the good guys either. I I love a good/bad guy that walks the fine of edge of is he good? Or is he bad? Sure he had saved a few of their lives, but why did he do it? He’s a Russian hit man working for the Russian Mafia, isn’t he?  He dark, sexy and dangerous with special talents. If he wants you dead, you will be nothing you could do would save you…

I would also like to pick Ryodan from Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series. He is another one where we don’t really know what his intentions are. He is extremely deadly and dark. He plays with both the bad guys and the good guys. And damn is he sexy!

Honorable mentions – The Ghost (Psy-Changling) we don’t even know who the Ghost is!

Declan – Immortals After Dark Series He captures and tortures creatures from the Lore.

Review: Gena Showalter – Last Kiss Goodnight

Otherworld Assassin Series:

Book 1:

Last Kiss Goodnight: Solomon Judah and Vika Lukas

Last Kiss Goodnight (Otherworld Assassin, #1)

Purchase on Amazon: Gena Showalter – Last Kiss Goodnight (Otherworld Assassin)

Black ops agent Solomon Judah awakens caged and bound in a twisted zoo where otherworlders are the main attraction. Vika Lukas, the owner’s daughter, is tasked with Solo’s care and feeding. The monster inside him yearns to kill her on sight, even though she holds the key to his escape. But the human side of him realizes the beautiful deaf girl is more than she seems—she’s his.

Vika endures the captives’ taunts and loathing, hoping to keep them alive even if she can’t free them. Only, Solo is different—he protects her. But as hostility turns to forbidden romance, his feelings for her will be used against him…and he’ll be put to a killer test.

First of all I would like to address the cover of this book, which is gorgeous! I love the bright red dress and everything else in black and white. I’d have to say one of my favorite Gena Showalter covers and she does not slack in the cover department.

I love Gena Showalter I really do! Her books tend to be smart, funny and action packed. This book is a spinoff of her Alien Huntress series, which is among my favorite series. This book however left me a bit disappointed.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved both Vika and Solo. They were great characters and ease to enjoy. Vika is such a sweetheart, she cares for others more than she cares for herself. She is selfless even if none of her “charges” realize it. She has a kind heart and soul. Her life has been anything but good. Her father is extremely abusive to the point that she was beaten so badly, she can no longer hear. Despite her rough life she still looks for the good in life and in people. She has a goal, she will find the key to the OtherWorlders “chains” so she can free them and she will also disappear so that her father can never find her. Her goal is shot to hell when Solo is brought in. She has always tried to maintain a distance from the capatives but with Solo she cannot do so. She is drawn to him like a moth to a flame. He protected Vika like no other person has ever done before which called to her lonely abused heart. She also found that she is more attracted to Solo than she has ever been attracted to any other living being. His raw masculinity and strength called to her. Even in his beast state he did not frighten her, he was always protective and tender with her which was more than she ever expected from a man let alone a captive. By all rights he should have hated her, but instead treated her like a he cherished her.

By all rights Solo should hate Vika for putting him through this humiliation. Solo is not a man that is used to being able to be caged. His beast form pretty much guarantees that he can get out of pretty much any situation most unscathed. But somehow this cage holds him and his beast inside. This is the first time he is relaying on anyone to help him get out of any situation. Despite his situation he recognizes Vika as “His”, never before has he felt such an intense feeling for someone. It drives him mad that he can’t protect her like his instincts are demanding of him. All his life he has been treated as a freak show, but Vika never looks at him like that. Her kindness and tenderness gets to him like nothing else has ever been able to. He has been alone most of his life and now suddenly he has hope for a better future but he can’t get himself or his woman out of this damn situation. Solo is a fierce warrior but also a kind soul, but don’t tell anyone that, it could ruin his hard earned reputation! He is incredibly loyal to those he cares about and that list is incredibly short, but Vika has made her way to that list.

Although I LOVED the characters, there were a few things holding me back from loving this book. The first being the majority of the book, I think it was something like 80% of the book Solo is stuck in that damn cage. This really slowed the book down at some points it was made the book drag. Solo’s being in a cage limited the action of the book, he’s a fierce warrior forced into inaction for pretty much the entire book. The few times he was out, he was basically beat to ish. This also means pretty much everything happens in the last 20 or so percent of the book. Solo being in a cage also limits interaction between Solo and Vika. The interaction they did have was meaningful but when your male lead is confined and your heroine has to sneak around to see him interaction becomes limited and when there is extended together time a chunk of that time Vika is unconscious and there is again limited interaction.

The good and bad “Helpers” of Solo’s were kind of weird and a bit distracting. So they were like Solo’s version of the Good and Bad Angels that sit on someone shoulder; one whispering to do good, the other to do bad, corrupting. No one other than Solo can see his helpers so when he is talking to them he’s basically talking to himself. They were there to I guess enhance the story line but for me I found them an annoyance and hindered the story line. I found the Good Helper to be a bit preachy and the constant changing of the Helpers looks based on Solo decisions to not be a value add but a distraction.

Then there was the switching of the senses which I also found random and odd. I didn’t really see the point of it. I wanted a different outcome for this. I can’t really say more on this topic because it’s a spoiler but I really want to. =)

This book had plenty of potential to go so many cool places so I was a bit disappointed that it didn’t really go there. It was also missing Gena Showalters trademark humor. I want to laugh, but I didn’t find myself chuckling all that much. The characters were this books saving grace and I do encourage you to read this book one because Vika and Solo are such great characters and two because it sets up the rest of this spin off series and we do get visits from a few of the Alien Huntress characters. I know I will be looking to the next book in this series.

A double review: All Over You and Devoured – Emily Snow

All Over You (Devoured, #0.5)Devoured (Devoured, #1)

Ok, so I’m doing a double review because All Over You is the short novella that is the prequel to Devoured. It’s not really long enough to get its own review but packs enough punch to be mentioned. Where All Over You leaves off you pick up Lucas and Siennas almost two years later.

Purchase All Over You: Emily Snow – All Over You (Devoured)

Purchase Devoured: Emily Snow – Devoured (Devoured 1)

All Over You:

Before Sienna was devoured, before Lucas was consumed, they were all over each other . . .

Lucas Wolfe is used to getting what he wants—from everyone but one person, that is—so when he meets the wardrobe assistant hired to work his band’s newest video, he’s got to have her. From the moment Sienna first obediently whispers “Yes, Mr. Wolfe”, he knows she’s perfect for him.

Three days.

And he’ll have her stripped down and bound to his bed.

Set two years before the events of DEVOURED, ALL OVER YOU is the story of Sienna and Lucas’s first encounter

Sienna Jensen had no plans to return home when she graduated college last spring—after all, her dreams lie in California. But when she discovers her grandmother’s Nashville home has been foreclosed, and the new owner has started the eviction process, Sienna has no other choice but go back to Music City. And she comes face to face with the flawed, gorgeous man she never thought she’d see again. The man who now holds the deed to her grandma’s estate.

When millionaire rock star Lucas Wolfe finds the outspoken redhead glaring at him from across a courtroom, he’s both infuriated and intrigued. He still can’t get the night Sienna almost spent with him out of his mind, and the chemistry between them is as undeniable as it was two years ago. He craves Sienna more than ever. And just like everything Lucas hungers for, he’s determined to have her.

Now, Lucas will do whatever it takes to lure Sienna into his bed, even if that means making a deal with her: ten days with him, playing by his rules, and he’ll hand over the deed to her grandmother’s home. Though she agrees to the arrangement, Sienna is conflicted. Because of her duty to her family. Because of promises she’s made to herself and a past that still haunts her. And as Lucas’s game of seduction continues, and Sienna is introduced to his dark, erotic world and even darker background, she realizes that at any moment, she could be devoured.

*This novel contains adult situations and content*

You can kind of consider All Over You as a long prologue to Devoured. It’s less than 60 pages but it packs quite the punch. We get to see how Lucas and Sienna get their start and the attraction is intense from the beginning. Devoured was released first so I read it before I got to read All Over You, I kind of liked reading it after Devoured because we get to go back in time and see where these two went wrong, in the beginning. After finishing All Over You, I of course had to go back and re-read Devoured! In All Over You we get Lucas’s perspective as well as Sienna’s. In Devoured it is strictly from Siennas perspective. After reading All Over You I kind of missed reading from Lucas’s perspective. He adds an interesting POV, I always like to get into the males mind a bit and his mind is a fun place to be even for a short time. In Devoured all we know is that Lucas was pretty much a complete douche when he tells Sienna to “get the fuck out”. I mean who does that?! With All Over Me we get some definite insights into that night. And Lucas is not as douchy as we once thought.

Rolling into Devoured the attraction between Sienna and Lucas is as intense as it once was, only now Lucas has to work a bit harder for it. Sienna is pissed at him, even after two years. I honestly don’t blame her. There is just something that gets your back up when a douche tells you to “get the fuck out” or as in personal experience “put out or get out”. Especially with Lucas it was an about face as we now know with All Over You, he was all about it in or out of bed so kicking her out, was a shitty ass move!

I would have loved to have had Lucas’s thoughts when he sees Sienna again after two years. It’s obvious he still wants her, even enough to give up a house to have her. Not having Luca’s perspective is the only thing that I had a problem with after the re-read after reading All Over You, it was like something was missing and it was Lucas’s voice. But even without Lucas’s POV Devoured was still a great read. Lucas and Sienna are just one of those couples that sticks out from the crowd.

Lucas is ultra-sexy musician who happens to have a kink for being a dominate; there is nothing he wants more than Sienna submitting to him. Sienna might be quite and keeps her head down and lets people walk over her, but she is pretty damn sure she is not a submissive and it gets her back up when Lucas basically points out that she is. It definitely brings out the feisty in her. She refuses to submit to his dominate behavior which makes for some interesting clashes! While she is not submitting to Lucas she learns that she has a back bone and starts sticking up for herself with other people as well. I liked how Sienna grew throughout the books. From a human doormat to someone who throw down and stick up for herself and she has Lucas to thank for that.

Lucas, has a life destroying secret that if it got out could destroy everything he has created; but what he doesn’t really get is that it is destroying his life anyway. Because of what person has over him, his life is out of his control so he seeks to control everything else. Finally he has found someone that he wants, but he can’t have her, not the way that he truly wants. And he may never be able to stand up to that one person to get what he really wants, and he may lose it and everything else forever…

DEVOURED and ALL OVER YOU are two whirlwind books that leave you wanting more. Devoured leaves us unresolved with unanswered question but worry not, there is a second book releasing soon. I have been sitting on edge waiting for Consumed to come out and whenever it is coming out it’s not getting here soon enough.

I also really loved Lucas’s sister Kylie! She is such a great character and I really hope that she gets her own book and finds her own HEA!

Rating of both books:

4.5 Orchids
